Foreign Minister hails strong Bahrain-UAE ties

Manama, Nov.8 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, expressed his utmost pride for the successful official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the United Arab Emirates.
He hailed the constructive talks that took place with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Minister noted that this important visit comes within the framework of the solid historical ties that bind the two brotherly countries, showcasing a common interest in developing and strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields to serve common interests under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
This came in a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, this evening on Sky News Arabia.
The minister noted that the two sides held talks that dealt with ways of consolidating brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples and enhancing joint cooperation.
He said that it was agreed to set a framework for consolidating bilateral cooperation in all political, economic, security, trade, tourism and investment fields. It will also work to establish a joint investment fund to invest in promising opportunities and projects in both countries and abroad.
He also added that a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, amounting to 16 agreements and memoranda of understanding, and they covered many areas, including cybersecurity, education and higher education, work and human resource development, advanced technology, health fields, transportation, communication, trade, investment, industry, artificial intelligence in the oil and gas sectors, environmental cooperation on climate change, and other fields.
Dr Al Zayani said that the joint statement issued at the end of the visit covers the various issues and areas that were discussed and agreed upon.
He expressed his pride in the outcome of this visit, noting that the discussions dealt with all important regional and international issues, and touched upon COVID-19 and the road to recovery, issues of the Arab nation, the call for a peaceful political solution, support for the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Yemen, the Houthis' call to accept this initiative, and the situation in Sudan, wishing Sudan growth and stability.
