NIHR hails HM King's support on its 12th anniversary

Manama, Nov. 10 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) marked its 12th anniversary. NIHR's President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi expressed his appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa support for NIHR and the royal directives to develop the human rights system in accordance with the Paris Principles. Al Derazi affirmed that Bahrain is continuing its approach in preserving human rights to ensure security for all citizens. He confirmed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the institution continued protecting and promoting human rights in accordance with its law of establishment. The president called for the importance of concerted efforts to contribute to implementing human rights principles, by cooperating with official agencies, civil society institutions and the private sector to achieve the humanitarian vision of HM the King, which calls for tolerance, coexistence, mutual respect, acceptance of the other and understanding between different religions, races and sects.
