Mando to supply vehicle brakes, stability control parts to GM
SEOUL, May 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Mando Corporation said Thursday it will supply vehicle brakes and stability control systems to GM.
The auto parts company said shipments of anti-lock brakes (ABS) and electronic
stability control (ESC) systems will begin in July.
It said the advanced model MGH-60 ABS and MGH-60 ESC systems are to be exported
to the U.S. carmaker after having met strict operational requirements.
Mando said that in addition to GM, the two parts will be used by Kia Motors Corp.
and Hyundai Motor Co., with efforts underway to export the parts to Europe.
"Both products were thoroughly tested in harsh climate conditions in Sweden and
New Zealand before mass production commenced," a company spokesman said. He
claimed that the quality of the products is on par with those made by Bosch.
