Interior Minister receives Director- General of Saudi Border Guard

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulah Al Khalifa, received Saudi Director-General of Border Guard and Chairman of the Permanent National Committee for Maritime Disasters, Major-General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shehri. Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the meeting. The Interior Minister welcomed the Saudi official and his accompanying delegation. He hailed historical ties between the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Interior Minister asserted the importance of promoting joint efforts, security cooperation and exchange of expertise between the Saudi Border Guard and Bahrain Coast Guard to reinforce maritime safety. He highlighted that the Coast Guard had been equipped with the latest technologies and training systems to ensure a safe maritime environment. In addition, the meeting reviewed topics pertaining to promoting joint work procedures and maritime safety.
