Indonesia provides mobile vaccination for success of Mandalika MotoGP

Jakarta, January 22 (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is cooperating with the private sector to provide a mobile vaccination car for administering the COVID-19 vaccine and ensuring successful implementation of the Mandalika MotoGP. The vaccination car is operational in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province and has covered over 700 thousand residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in pursuit of building herd immunity against the virus. “The mobile vaccination car has arrived in NTB Province after having earlier started from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Bali. With its presence in NTB now, we want to give a signal that this is a joint movement for us to revive the national economy, especially to make the event successful since all residents have been vaccinated,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno noted in a statement here on Saturday. The vaccination car has been operational for 10 days, and several residents, including children aged 6 to 11 years, received the COVID-19 vaccine due to the service. Uno also lauded all private partners, especially those in the tourism and creative economy sectors, for having supported the government program and helped to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. “Thank you to all partners for having committed to working hand-in-hand with us and continuing to innovate and collaborate in recovering the tourism and creative economy ecosystem hit hard by this pandemic through vaccination,” he remarked. Mandalika MotoGP will be held on March 18-20, 2022, in keeping with strict health protocols. Apart from being the event for economic recovery in the tourism sector, the Mandalika MotoGP will mirror Indonesia’s ability to hold an international event whilst concurrently handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Some 11 thousand workers can be absorbed in Mandalika to make the prestigious international sports event successful. Some 100 thousand spectators are expected to watch the Mandalika MotoGP, and they will indubitably contribute to reviving the creative economy and tourism sectors in Mandalika and its surrounding areas.
