Foreign Minister holds talks with Turkish counterpart

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani held a session of official talks today with his his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Al Zayani welcomed his Turkish counterpart, praising the friendly relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation. He expressed Bahrain’s aspiration to enhance joint cooperation across all fields, stressing the importance of bolstering bilateral ties with regards to political and security challenges facing the Middle East. He highlighted the need to maintain security, stability, and peace in the region, as well as achieve the aspirations of its peoples for development and prosperity, wishing Turkey and its friendly people further development and progress. Çavuşoğlu thanked the minister, expressing delight at visited visited the Kingdom of Bahrain. He hailed the friendly relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness of Turkey to enhance relations and cooperation. He also wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. The two sides discussed friendship and cooperation between them and ways to enhance and develop cooperation in the political, economic, commercial, cultural and tourism fields. They highlighted political developments and challenges in the region, as well as regional wars and conflicts that threaten the region’s stability and security, stressing the importance of activating cooperation and enhancing cooperation across all vital fields. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Acting Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs Khalil Yaqoob AlKhayat, the Director General of Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Director General of Ministry Affairs Talal Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, the Chief of Human Rights Affairs, Dr. Arwa Hasan Alsayed Ali Ebrahim, the Chief of Afro-Asian Affairs, Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, and other senior officials at the Ministry. The Turkish side included the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bahrain Esin Çakıl.
