Bahrain joins world in marking World Cancer Day

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA): The Health Ministry said that Bahrain will be participating, along with the world and health organizations, in marking the World Cancer Day on February 4.
The celebration affirms the efforts of the Kingdom to prevent tumors and promote awareness of the complications of cancer.
The ministry said that the celebration of World Cancer Day aims to reduce premature deaths 25% by 2025 and raises awareness of societies about cancer diseases and ways to prevent them, encourage early detection, receive preventive vaccines, and emphasize solutions.
The ministry said that Bahrain is proud to provide qualitative and exemplary services to patients with various types of cancer in its various governmental and private facilities for diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services.
It is also proud of the associations and institutions that support the patients and their families in order to recover, through awareness, education and support campaigns.
The ministry affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on treating chronic noncommunicable diseases, as it formed the National Committee to Combat Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases. The committee includes representatives from various parties and aims to develop strategies, plans and programs to limit the spread of such diseases. The ministry is also keen to provide the best, safest and effective health care for cancer patients.
