Bahrainouna's Executive Office reviews milestones achieved, next phase plans

Manama, Feb. 5 (BNA): The Executive Office of the National Plan to promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of patriotism “Bahrainouna” expressed its pride in the support and guidance of the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of “Bahrainouna”, General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, towards delivering Bahrainouna’s initiatives, despite the challenges and precautionary measures imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic.
During a meeting, the office said that the success of the activities and programmes of the plan aims to strengthen national belonging and prepare a generation that believes in the values of patriotism and loyalty.
The meeting of the Executive Office was virtually held with the participation of representatives of the ministries and relevant stakeholders, in the context of following up on what has been implemented during the past period and reviewing the requirements for the next stage. Reports on what has been accomplished in the first three years of the National Plan (Bahrainouna) and the impact achieved through the performance indicators set by each participating stakeholder are being compiled to issue an official report covering the first 3 years.
Members of the Executive Office pointed to the role of Bahrainouna’s digital platform in facilitating interaction with Bahrainouna’s partners and stakeholders to ensure continuous engagement and communication. The importance of intensifying communication with the public was also emphasised during the discussions.
The Executive Office reviewed the project of digitising “Watani” magazine issued by Ministry of Interior, which is expected to transform the print magazine to a national interactive platform for children and youth in Bahrain. The implementation of the initiatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, including the Experts Register initiative scheduled to be launched in the first half of this year, were also highlighted during the meeting.
In addition, the Ministry of Information Affairs briefed the office members on the efforts exerted to cover national celebrations, highlighting heritage-related activities and showcasing national achievements and personalities through “Watani” programme, radio and television programmes, and public inserts on Bahrain’s national landmarks.
The members of the Executive Office discussed a number of proposals and projects aimed at promoting national belonging, which includes the guide for the flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain and a research project that will enable the executive office to assess the impact of the national plan (Bahrainouna).
It is worth noting that the National plan to Promote Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Patriotism (Bahrainouna), which was launched in March 2019, includes more than 100 initiatives implemented by 27 government bodies and institutions through 5 main tracks centred on belonging programmes, public relations campaigns, media initiatives, curricula and course initiatives, legislation and regulations initiatives.
