DANAT receives Indian ambassador

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) welcomed the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Piyush Srivastava. The meeting explored new collaboration opportunities between India and Bahrain in the fields of pearls and gemstones and trade, as well as training and research in this field. DANAT CEO Noora Jamsheer briefed the ambassador on the institute’s establishment and mission, as well as how it evolved into a world-class gemological laboratory, education and research center, specializing in the testing and study of natural pearls as a reflection of Bahrain’s ancient pearling history and desire to protect and advance Bahrain’s pearling heritage. Ambassador Srivastava toured DANAT’s laboratory which is equipped with the state-of-art equipment and managed by an expert team of gemmologists who contributed to establishing the institute as the world’s preferred center for natural pearl and gemstone testing services, and a respected channel for international markets, serving both local and global clients. He expressed his admiration for DANAT’s excellence, emphasizing its role in enhancing Bahrain's reputation as a leading regional and international center in the field of pearl trade, welcoming future opportunities to develop India-Bahrain cooperation in this field. “The trade of pearls and gemstones has always been an important aspect of trade relations between India and Bahrain, and pearls are an important factor in the shared heritage and history of the two friendly countries, which celebrated their fifty-year diplomatic relationship last October,” he said.
