Yemen, IFAD talk on cooperation in food security

SANA'A, May 24 (Saba) - Yemen and International Fund for
Agricultural Development (IFAD) talked here on Sunday on cooperation
ties in agriculture, rural development and food security enhancement.

Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshabi and
IFAD's mission charged with the rural development project assessment
in Raymah governorate discussed the IFAD's future trends to support
the agricultural development's programs in the country.

The meeting also dealt with results of the mission's visit to Yemen
in addition to getting acquainted with the rural development
project's activities in Raymah governorate and the implemented
projects in different agricultural fields.

The mission praised the implementation level in the rural
development projects in Yemen and the project's contribution to
develop the agricultural sector in Yemen.

The rural development project in Raymah governorate is one of the
strategic projects aiming at developing the infrastructure in the
agriculture field through constructing dams and availing from rains
water in irrigation field and groundwater conservation.
