Seoul stocks open lower on big-cap losses
By Park Bo-ram
SEOUL, May 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks started marginally lower Monday,
weighed down by large-cap losses, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dropped 0.8 point, or
0.06 percent, to 1,404.55 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Weak big-cap stocks led the market loss as institutional investors continued
their relentless selling.
The local currency was trading at 1,244.35 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., up 3.05 won from Friday's close.
