Seoul stocks down 0.51 percent in late morning
SEOUL, May 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.51 percent lower in late
Monday morning, weighed down by financial share losses, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) shed 7.21 points to
1,396.54 as of 11:20 a.m.
"Following hefty gains last week, financial shares lost ground on profit taking,"
said Hwang Bin-ah, an analyst at Kyobo Securities.
Leading financial service companies traded sharply lower after institutional
investors increased their net selling.
The local currency was trading at 1,251.5 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 4.1 won from Friday's close.
