SCW meets US Congress delegation

Manama, Feb. 21 (BNA): The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) held a meeting with a delegation of the US Congress during their official visit to Bahrain. SCW Assistant Secretary General Shaikha Dina bint Rashid Al Khalifa briefed the delegation on the experience of the Kingdom, its efforts and initiatives that support the advancement of Bahraini women, and introduced the National Gender Balance model in Bahrain that guided policy makers, general strategies, legislators and program implementers. The meeting reviewed indicators that confirm the progress achieved by Bahraini women at various levels and the Kingdom’s efforts in integrating Bahraini women into government plans, strategies and development programs to enable them to play their national role and to enhance their country's progress in all fields. The US Congress delegation expressed their admiration for the experience of Bahrain in supporting women and stressed their keenness to continue such fruitful discussions with the SCW to contribute in developing women conditions in the two countries.
