Speaker receives IPU Member Parliaments and External Relations Director

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker received in her office today Director for Member Parliaments and External Relations at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Anda Filip. The meeting was held in the presence of First Deputy Speaker, MP Abdulnabi Salman, Representatives Council Secretary General, Chancellor Rashid Mohammed Bunejma and Presidency Affairs Advisor, Mustafa Abdulaziz. The Representatives Council Speaker stressed the kingdom’s status as a major host of regional and international events, which reflects comprehensive growth witnessed by Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She commended cooperation between the legislative and executive branches, pointing out support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Both sides discussed ways of promoting parliamentary relations between the Representatives Council and IPU. They also reviewed preparations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the 146th session of IPU which is slated to be held in March 2023. Anda Filip praised Bahrain’s progress in various fields, describing the kingdom as a model to emulate in religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence, women empowerment and protection of human rights.
