Speaker invited to 144th IPU Assembly

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, today received the newly-appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain, Ardi Hermawan. Speaker Zainal wished the envoy every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties. She affirmed the Representatives Council’s support for bolstering the Bahraini-Indonesian cooperation across all fields, in light of the solid relations between the two friendly countries and peoples. The ambassador expressed his deep pride in the level reached by the relations between the two countries, praising the comprehensive development march currently witnessed by the kingdom. He also conveyed to her greetings from her Indonesian counterpart. The envoy handed over the speaker and the parliamentary delegation an invitation to participate in the 144th Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) and its related meetings, due to be held in Indonesia later this month.
