Speaker hails Bahraini women's achievements, successes

Manama, Mar. 7 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has lauded the distinguished prestigious level reached by Bahraini women thanks to the directives and efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The Bahraini women’s landmark achievements and gains have been attained under the comprehensive development spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, she said. Speaker Zainal expressed her deepest congratulations to HRH Princess Sabeeka on the International Women's Day 2022, themed “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”. She affirmed that the kingdom is celebrating the world occasion in light of the wide-ranging successes achieved by Bahraini women as a result of HRH Princess Sabeeka’s interest, and support for them to become effective and influential elements in serving their nation and society, in accordance with the royal directives to put in place all progress and distinction requirements for them. She asserted that the advancement of Bahraini women across all fields reflects the appreciation of HM the King for their role and the effective programmes launched by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support women’s role on the basis of the equal opportunities principle. The speaker hailed the major role played by the SCW, led by HRH Princess Sabeeka, in advancing Bahraini women, citing its effective plans and programmes to support women politically and economically, among others. She highlighted the major role played by Bahraini women in supporting the kingdom’s efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus pandemic. She affirmed the Representatives Council’s support for the SCW’s plans and programmes.
