Al Modiahki Elected President of Qatar Chess Federation by Acclamation

Doha, March 16 (QNA) - The General Assembly of the Qatar Chess Federation has elected Mohammed Ahmed Al Modiahki as Chairman of the Board of Directors for a new term by acclamation, at the meeting held at the federation's building in Burj Al Bida, in the presence of all members of the Board of Directors and a representative of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), President of the Qatar Chess Federation Al Modiahki stressed the importance of the local tournaments organized by the federation throughout the year, which have had a prominent place in the federation's agenda because it produced new and gifted chess players, contributing to the human capital of the game. He indicated that such tournaments contribute to encouraging young talents and the horizontal expansion of the game in Qatar to build a broad base for it. (QNA)
