Chinese president sends condolences over Roh's death

BEIJING, May 26 (Yonhap) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao sent condolences to Kwon
Yang-sook, the wife of former President Roh Moo-hyun, who committed suicide over
the weekend, China's foreign ministry said Tuesday.
China's foreign ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said President Hu sent the message
to Kwon after the former South Korean president died unfortunately.
The spokesman added that Prime Minister Wen Jiabao also expressed his condolences
to South Korean Prime Minister Han Seung-soo and former Prime Minister Han
Myung-sook, co-chairs of the funeral organizing committee.
Ma said the two Chinese leaders highly appreciate Roh's contribution to the
development of bilateral relations between China and South Korea.
