Al-Attiya: Yemen, GCC to hold meeting soon
SANA'A, May 26 (Saba) - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdulrahman al-Attiya said that Yemen and the GCC will hold a meeting to discuss coordination and consultation issues in various fields.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Foreign Ministers of GCC and Yemen Foreign
Minister Abu-Bakr al-Qirbi.
Speaking to Saba, al-Attiya said that the meeting is expected to be held in the
beginning of June at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Council in Riyadh.
It will address issues related to recommendations of leaders of the GCC states in
the Gulf summit, held in Riyadh, which indicated the strong GCC's sport for Yemen's
unity and stability, as well as reviewing financial pledges of the Gulf states at
the Donors Conference in London, al-Attiya added.
During the meeting, Yemen and the Gulf states will discuss the request presented by
Yemen to join new bodies in the GCC.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Foreign Ministers of GCC and Yemen Foreign
Minister Abu-Bakr al-Qirbi.
