Al-Anasi affirms importance of fitting national laws with UN agreement of combating corruption

SANA'A, May 26 (Saba)- Chairman of supreme national authority for combating corruption SNACC Ahmed al-Anasi affirmed importance of fitting national laws with the United Nations agreement of combating corruption to contribute to combat the corruption in the society.

During his meeting with representative of GTZ, al-Anasi valued the GTZ cooperation
to the authority since its establishment in field of improving its capacities.

In the meeting, an UN expert in a project of combating corruption reviewed a
proposal to fit the Yemeni laws with the UN agreement.

The expert said that the proposal aims at a team from local experts of the national
corporations to revise the national laws for period between 6 to 8 months maximum.

It focuses on partnership between the SNACC and other concerned

bodies with combating cooperation such as Parliament, Central

Organization for Audit and Control, Public Prosecution, and Ministry

of Legal Affairs as well as civil society organization and private

sector, he added

He made it clear that such move would meet needs of Yemen to combat corruption as
that would reflect positively on the climate of investment in the nation.

The personal suggested benefiting from the experiment of Indonesia in combating
corruption within official cooperation in this field between the two countries.
