Business sentiment slightly falls in S. Korea

SEOUL, May 28 (Yonhap) -- Business confidence in South Korea marginally eroded
for June amid concerns over the strength of Asia's fourth-largest economy because
of the impact of the global slump, a private survey showed Thursday.

The monthly business survey index, an indicator of business outlook for the
nation's top 600 firms for the coming month, was 100.2 in June, compared with
103.8 the month before, the Federation of Korean Industries said in a statement.
But, it was the second straight month the index recorded a reading above 100,
according to the business lobby group.
"The slight decline for the June index showed uncertainties still remain in the
real economy," the group said.
A reading above 100 indicates that the number of companies expecting the economy
to improve was greater than those forecasting a deterioration.
