HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad to lead Royal Team in Windsor International Endurance Championship

London, May12 (BNA): The Royal Endurance Team is gearing up for the Windsor International Equestrian Championship, which will be held tomorrow in the suburbs of London, the UK. His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will lead the Royal Endurance Team in the 160 kilometre-long race. The race will be held for the first time as part of the Windsor International Equestrian Championship as part of efforts to further develop endurance sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Royal Team jockeys will also take part in the 120-kilometre race for the public, the 120-k, race for juniors, in addition to another race covering the distance of 100 km. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will take part in the 160-km challenge, along with Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Raed Mahmoud, Mohammed Abdulsamad Al Bastaki, Sarhan Hameed Al Enzi and Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Zayed. The 120-km race for the public will see the participation of jockeys HH Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Salman Isa, Othman Al Awadhi, Hamad Isa Al Janahi, Khalid Youssef, Nasser Al Qahtani, Mohammed Abdulhamid Al Hashemi and Shahd Waleed. Isa Hameed Al Enzi, Hamad Helal Al Khateri, Abdulla Hassan Al Ruwaei and Ahmed Khalid Al Thawadi will compete in the 10-km race for juniors, while Mohammed Khalid Al Ruwaei will feature in the 100-km challenge. Bahrain Sports Channel will air live the Windsor Equestrian Championship, as part of the keenness of the Ministry of Information Affairs to cover Bahrain’s participation in international sports competitions. HH Shaikh Nasser, Royal Endurance Team Captain, stressed keenness on competing on the top sports, to reflect Bahrain’s equestrian strides, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended long standing historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and Britain, stressing steadily-growing ties, thanks to HM the King’s vision, which represents a catalyst for the Royal Team to put up an outstanding performance in the championship. He stressed the importance of the Windsor International Equestrian Championship, noting that the positive results achieved so far motivate the Royal Endurance Team to shine in other European competitions. “We will return to Windsor with a high ambition to continue the successful march”, he said, noting that the team could not participate over the past two years due to COVID-19 outbreak. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also followed up on the medical tests, in the presence of Supreme Council for the Environment Vice President, Rashid Equestrian Club High Authority Deputy Chairman, SCYS member HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Equestrian Affairs Authority Chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa.
