Gulf Hotels Group to operate Gulf Aquamarine Hotel in Tbilisi

By Nayla Barakat Manama, May 16 (BNA): The Gulf Hotels Group has signed an agreement to operate an hotel in Georgia, making its first venture in Europe. Farouk Almoayyed, Chairman of Gulf Hotels Group, said that Gulf Hotels Group would operate the four-star Gulf Aquamarine Hotel in Tbilisi. The strategic partnership will deliver international levels of hospitality to Georgian operations and will focus on increasing tourism from key Gulf countries into Georgia, he said following the signing ceremony. Gino Holding will provide their Bahraini hospitality and restaurant operations to the new venture. “This hotel will set a solid foundation for the Groups’ global expansion plan," Almoayyed said. "We are here to build great experiences and what would hopefully be the beginning of promoting tourism and economic exchange between Bahrain and Georgia.” “We are looking at the Middle East and Saudi markets to explore the avenues of expansion and new projects, and that will be materialized in due course of time." Chairman of N & G Company Dr. Nodari Giorgadze said the project will be a very positive step forward for Georgia and Georgians as well as for all the people of the Gulf countries. "It is a special project between Gulf Hotel Group and Gino Holding," he said. “This collaboration will promote tourism for the Gulf and Georgia. The people from Gulf countries can visit us in Georgia and the Georgians can visit the Gulf countries. The nations can work together to build bridges between the two countries." Bahrain and Georgia have different seasons that people of both countries can enjoy as they visit. "The Gulf countries have very beautiful sun and weather but do not have snow in winter. In Georgia, we have snow in winter when here it is pleasant weather in winter with plenty of sunlight to go outside. In Georgia in winter, we have snow for skiing. In summer when it is extremely hot in Gulf countries, it is a good time to visit Georgia for swimming and resting. So, it's good collaboration between the countries." He added the Arabs and Georgians had a very close mentality. "We both give great respect to women. We respect the elderly and senior citizens, and we give top priority to our families, and nothing is more important than them. Just like today here in Bahrain I am accompanied by my grandson," he said. He said that the hotel will open in June, but the aquapark is opening in one week. The huge project consists of an hotel and the aqua park which has the capacity to accommodate thousands of people daily,” he said on the sidelines of the Press Conference. The hotel features an all-day dining Lebanese restaurant, along with the adjacent water park, ‘Gino Paradise’, with its multiple pools and water slides, food and beverage outlets and wellness center and health facilities.
