Speaker: Bahrain’s parliamentary diplomacy serves Arab action

Manama, May19 (BNA):Parliament Speaker, Arab Inter Parliamentary Union (AIPU) President, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal held a meeting with AIPU Secretary General Fayez Al Shawaka and discussed ongoing preparations to hold the 33rd AIPU extraordinary conference on Sunday under the theme ”Al Aqsa Mosque, Islamic and Christian holy sites are top priorities”. The Speaker stressed the keenness of Bahraini diplomacy to support joint Arab action, in line with the approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She highlighted Bahrain’s parliamentary efforts to strengthen inter-Arab partnership in coordination with foreign diplomacy as part of the balanced policy of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. During the meeting, she noted that major Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause, represent a priority for joint Arab action, praising Arab countries’ keenness to to participate in meetings and conferences in support of Palestinians’s inalienable rights.
