Kyrgyzstan takes part in international environmental conference in Stockholm

Bishkek, June 3, 2022. /Kabar/. Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov and Director of the Economic Policy Research Institute of the Kyrgyz Republic Zharasul uulu Eldiyar are participating in an international environmental conference in Stockholm (Sweden). This global meeting coincides with 10 years of action and is dedicated to the theme "Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all - our responsibility, our opportunity”. The Stockholm+50 meeting is taking place under the auspices of the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the global environmental movement. Recognizing the importance of multilateralism in addressing the Earth's triple planetary crisis (climate change, loss of nature and pollution), the event will serve as a springboard to accelerate implementation of the UN's 10-year action for the Sustainable Development Goals, including the 2030 Agenda, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the post-2020 World Biodiversity Framework, and supporting "green" recovery plans after COVID-19.
