Medicine Supply Improved to Maintain Stabilized Anti-Epidemic Situation in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Effective state measures are taken in the DPRK to stabilize and improve the anti-epidemic work by keeping the balance between the supply and consumption of medicines under the current anti-epidemic situation across the country. On the basis of a detailed analysis of the provision and possession of medicines in every region, the central emergency anti-epidemic sector is taking technical steps. The Cabinet and the Ministry of Public Health push ahead with the work to ensure the supply of medicines in a more effective, rapid and stabilized manner by setting up medicine-supply centers in different parts of the country. New ideas are discussed and put into practice to expand the capacities of pharmaceutical factories for producing the Koryo medicines, which proved effective in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, and various indispensable and reserve medicines. Underway is the work to prevent various medical accidents by carrying out proper pharmaceutical tests based on index and resolve the problems arising in drawing up and issuing the new rules and regulations on the medicine supply suited to the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system. At least 360 million medicines of more than 430 kinds have been supplied to medical organs in different parts of the country to make progress in the treatment of the fevered cases and the aftereffects. Medics of the Korean People’s Army popularized their good experience in the supply of medicines to Pyongyang citizens, thus ensuring the favorable situation in the all-out anti-epidemic campaign. Relevant sectors and units are improving the supply of medicines by emulating their revolutionary and militant work style. Officials across the country are displaying a high sense of responsibility and devotion in organizing and guiding the receipt and supply of medicines delivered from the state on the spot. Medical organs at all levels and pharmacies have built medicine storehouses meeting the relevant rules and hygienic requirements, while providing kind service. Pharmaceutical factories and Koryo medicine producers are boosting the production of medicines. -0-
