Kyrgyz transport minister and European commissioner for transport discuss co-op

Bishkek, June 22, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Osoev and European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean met in Brussels to discuss cooperation in the field of transport, on the sidelines of the European Development Days. During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on current issues of cooperation in the transport field and the prospects for its strengthening and promotion, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. The minister discussed with the European Commissioner issues related to cooperation with the EU countries in the field of transport, in particular, to strengthen and maintain trade, economic and investment cooperation, issues of assistance in increasing the permits for the transport of goods across the territories of the EU countries, issued by the EU member states. Erkinbek Osoev spoke about the Decree adopted by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov dated May 21, 2022 “On improving the civil aviation management system and measures to develop air traffic in the Kyrgyz Republic”, which provides for the strengthening of civil aviation and the task of carrying out a set of measures to withdraw the Kyrgyz Republic from the so-called black safety list of the European Union. In turn, the European Commissioner welcomed this decision and noted the readiness for interaction to further strengthen cooperation in the transport field, including in the field of aviation.
