Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs meets with Chairperson of EU Committee on Relations with Arabian Peninsula

Brussels, June 23 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met in Brussels the Chairperson of European Union Committee on Relations with the Arabian Peninsula, Hannah Neumann. During the meeting, they reviewed relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union and ways to enhance them in various political, parliamentary and economic fields. They also discussed regional and international issues. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla briefed the European side on the most prominent democratic, human rights and parliamentary achievements witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted the kingdom’s determination to hold parliamentary and municipal elections in its sixth session this year, and affirmation of its diplomatic positions in support of tolerance and regional and international peace, in light of the wise approach of His Majesty the King. For her part, Hannah Neumann affirmed the European Parliament's keenness on strengthening partnership and cooperation between the European Union and the Kingdom of Bahrain in foreign policy, business, trade, energy, and other fields for the benefit of both sides.
