Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Measures are being taken in the DPRK to completely stamp out the spread of COVID-19, thoroughly prevent the outbreak of various pandemic diseases and turn all the regions of the country into epidemic-free zones.
The emergency anti-epidemic sector, the public health sector and other relevant sectors closely observe the worldwide outbreak and spread of Omicron coronavirus sub-variants and other pandemic diseases like monkeypox, quickly taking preemptive and strong anti-epidemic measures.
In constant liaison with medical research units, the central anti-epidemic sector fixes the quarantine period and the lockdown level for persons or objects with epidemic risk more accurately.
Proceeding at the final stage is the research for developing a video diagnosis aid system for quickly detecting the malignant pandemic disease and other various respiratory diseases. Intensive technical courses are given to raise the practical abilities of medical workers of treatment and prevention organs.
Cooperating with the emergency anti-epidemic organs, the public health sector carefully carries out an epidemiological survey of various areas and units in Pyongyang to accurately confirm the clinical symptoms exhibited by people with different ages and physical constitutions as aftereffects of the pandemic disease. It pushes ahead with drawing up and issuing treatment guides for aftereffects by mobilizing health experts from central hospitals.
As new Omicron coronavirus sub-variants spread in neighboring countries and regions, the emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels regularly examine water of rivers, while strongly urging citizens not to touch any strange objects and wild animals.
Measures are taken proactively to cope with any abnormal situation by further strengthening the mobile rapid treatment force in each region and dispatching medical workers to the areas of low mass immunity level.
The medical research sector focuses its efforts on intensifying research and taking measures to ensure in a sci-tech way the enhancement of the state counter-crisis capability.
Conducted under a detailed plan are such works as issuing a test guide to detect monkeypox virus, completing a scientific test method and system, organizing technical courses for test members and supplying necessary medicines.
Medical appliance producers across the country put efforts into developing and producing various test tools and emergency resuscitating equipment, and medicine and medical supplies producers contribute to promptly coping with any health crisis by increasing production. -0-
