S. Korea, Indonesia to cooperate over youth training

SEOUL, May 31 (Yonhap) -- South Korea is to strike a new deal on expanding youth
exchange programs and cooperation in school education with Indonesia, one of the
nations participating in a special summit between President Lee Myung-bak and
Southeast Asian leaders, Seoul's health ministry said Sunday.
Under the pact to be signed Monday, the opening day of the two-day South
Korea-ASEAN summit, the two countries will each set up a 20-member team comprised
of students aged 18-25, government officials and youth group leaders, ministry
officials said. The teams will visit each other's country for a period of 10 days
every year, said the officials.
The group will attend conferences and seminars, working as a bridge to exchange
information on teenager training and school education.
The deal, to be struck between Jang Ok-joo of Seoul's health ministry youth
policy bureau and his Indonesian counterpart, Wafid Muharam, will be valid for
two years and will be automatically extended thereafter.
Including Indonesia, Seoul has reached such deals on teenager training with 27
countries.
