Yemeni-Saudi summit held in Riyadh




RIYADH, May 31 (Saba) - Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud renewed here on
Sunday the Kingdom's support to Yemen and its security, stability and unity.

During a Yemeni-Saudi Summit chaired by President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Saudi King
Abdullah in the Saudi Capital of Riyadh, the Saudi King said that Yemen's security
concerns Kingdom and vice versa.

During the summit, President Saleh pointed to Kingdom's supportive stands towards
Yemen's security, unity, stability and development as well as and the Kingdom's
generous care offering to the Yemeni community in Saudi Arabia.

He also hailed the King Abdullah's supportive positions to Yemen accession to the
Gulf Cooperation Council.

Saleh and Abdullah expressed their satisfaction for the level of the distinguished
relations between the two brotherly countries at the political, economic and
security levels, noting the successes that have been achieved in the security
cooperation and combating terrorism fields.

The two leaders affirmed their keenness on pushing forward such relations to serve
interests of the two brotherly peoples in the two countries.

The summit dealt with the Arab, territorial and international developments of common
concern, topped by efforts of enhancing Arab solidarity and the peace process in the
region as well as the situation in Somalia and coordinating efforts in combating
terrorism and maritime piracy.

It also discussed means of underpinning the firm fraternal ties and joint
cooperation between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
