M'SIAN PM ARRIVES IN JEJU ISLAND TO ATTEND ASEAN-KOREA SUMMIT

JEJU ISLAND (South Korea), June 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister
Najib Tun Razak arrived here Sunday to attend the two-day Asean-South
Korea Commemorative Summit which begins Monday.
Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, were met on arrival at Jeju
International Airport at 6pm (5pm Malaysian Time) by a representative of the
South Korean Government, Ambassador Moon Ha Hyung.
Also present were Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman,
International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed, Foreign
Ministry secretary-general Rastam Mohd Isa and Malaysian Ambassador to
South Korea Ramlan Ibrahim.
Najib's delegation to the summit comprises Anifah, Mustapa and senior
government officials.
On Monday, Najib is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the closing
ceremony of the Asean-South Korea CEO Summit which will be attended by business
leaders.
Najib is also scheduled to meet South Korean President Lee Myung Bak. He
will also have talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tang Dung, who is
also here to attend the summit.
The Asean-South Korea Commemorative Summit will mark 20 years of
dialogue
between the two sides, and the leaders are expected to exchange views on current
regional and international issues of common concern.
At the end of the summit, the leaders will sign the Joint Statement of the
Asean-South Korea Commemorative Summit, besides witnessing the signing of the
Agreement on Investment under the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic
Cooperation Among the Governments of Asean Nations and South Korea, by Asean and
South Korean economic ministers.
