GM Daewoo's vehicle sales plunge 48.9 pct in May

SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) -- GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co., the South Korean unit
of U.S. automaker General Motors Corp., said Monday its auto sales plunged 48.9
percent in May on weaker demand at home and overseas.

GM Daewoo, the third-largest carmaker in South Korea, sold 44.014 units last
month with exports diving 50.1 percent to 35,859 units and domestic sales
plummeting 42.7 percent to 8,155 units, the company said in a statement.
