GOVERNORS OF SOME US STATES CONGRATULATE AZERBAIJANI COMMUNITY ON REPUBLIC DAY
Baku, June 1(AzerTAc). Governors of U.S. States of California, New Mexico, Utah, Oregon, Montana and Washington
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Richardson, Jon Huntsman and Ted Kulongoski, Brian Schweitzer and Christine Gregoire congratulated the Azerbaijani community on the occasion of May 28 – the Republic Day.
In his letter, Arnold Schwarzenegger said Azerbaijanis enrich the diversity of the State of California.
Governor Bill Richardson stressed the fact that women were granted equal voting rights with men in Azerbaijan still in 1918. The letter says Azerbaijan is a partner of the United States in fight against international extremism.
According to the letter, Azerbaijanis, with their abilities and efforts, contributed to the United States` history, art, science and culture.
Letters from governors of Montana and Washington stressed the freedom and independence of Azerbaijan and the fact that Azerbaijan accepted female suffrage in 1918
