Native of Kyrgyzstan writes book and makes film about life of compatriots in Yakutia

Bishkek, Aug. 9, 2022 / Kabar /. A native of Kyrgyzstan, Uulzhan Dauletbekova wrote a book about the life of migrants in Yakutia and also made a film based on it, Komsomolskaya Pravda wrote. The author migrated in 2014 and told life stories in her book “Diary of a Migrant”. She opened the eyes of many to another world that exists right there, next to the familiar one. This book changed not only the outlook of those who read it, but also the life of Uulzhan herself. Some fellow countrymen supported it, while others, who preferred to hide their problems further, opposed it, the report said. The film will hit the screens very soon. The media indicated that Dauletbekova did not write the book purposefully, initially it was a diary where she wrote down emotions and feelings in difficult moments. In Yakutsk, she found work in a local café with 50,000 rubles of salary per month, rented a room with other migrants for 10,000 rubles, left 5,000 for groceries and the rest of her salary to her parents at home, dreaming of returning back, it said. However, plans have changed. And the film will be shown on Aug. 18 in Yakutia. Then the film will be shown in Kyrgyzstan and Moscow.
