INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN`S DAY MARKED IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 2 June (AzerTAc). An event dedicated to the International Children`s Day took place in Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society after Muslim Magomayev with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, State Committee on Problems of Family, Woman and Children, Ministries of Education; Culture and Tourism; Youth and Sports.
In the beginning, representatives of the governmental and non-governmental organizations, international structures familiarized themselves with the children`s exhibition opened in foyer of the building. A ceremony started with “Children`s hymn” by rector of National Conservatory, people`s artist Siyavush Karimi.
Chairman of the State Committee on Problems of Family, Woman and Children Hijran Huseynova, ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov and Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov congratulated children and wished them happy future.
The speakers noted that decree of President Ilham Aliyev to declare 2009 year - the “Year of Child” gave an impulse to protection of children`s rights in the country. They underlined that concern for children was in the focus of government over the past years and this issue put in the forefront during term of office of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and all conditions were created for right education and upbringing of young generation.
On care of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva about children, who need in special concern, participants emphasized that the Foundation carries out important projects to reveal the talented children of Azerbaijan.
As a part of the “Year of Child”, the gifted children were awarded with honorary diplomas. The masters of art and children`s dancing groups performed a concert program.
