(2nd LD) One S. Korean aboard missing Air France jet: ministry

(ATTN: UPDATES throughout with details on missing plane)
By Lee Chi-dong
SEOUL, June 2 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean man was found to have been aboard an Air
France passenger jet that disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean earlier this week,
Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday.
"It has been confirmed that the 40-year-old man with the name of Ku Hak-rim was
aboard the plane," a ministry official told reporters.
Ku, head of the Vietnamese branch of a Seoul-based shipping company, was on a
business trip, he added.
The Airbus A330-200 was carrying 216 passengers and a dozen crewmembers when it
vanished Sunday night (local time) during a flight from Brazil to France. Local
authorities said the plane seems to have crashed into sea and continued the
search for wreckage.
The airline initially mistook Ku for a Vietnamese or a Lebanese due to his address
and name, according to the official.
At the request of his family and company, however, South Korean foreign ministry
officials tracked down his flight number and confirmed he was in fact on the
plane.
Ku has a wife and two children living in Vietnam.
