Saudi Envoy attends Indian FM Krishna's reception for Arab and

New Delhi, June 02, SPA -- Acting Saudi Charge D'affaires in India
Mohammed bin Abdullah Barri attended a dinner party hosted by the new
Indian Foreign Minister S.M.Krishna here last night in honor of the
ambassadors of Arab and ASEAN countries.

Speaking on the occasion, the Indian Foreign Minister reiterated the
keenness of his country on forging cooperation with the Association
of South-East Asian nations for the sake of development and peace as
well as combating terrorism.

Krishna also highlighted the existing strong historical relations
between the Arab countries and India.

The new foreign minister emphasized the support of India for the
Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent
state.

Krishna urged for regional and international cooperation for
combating terrorism and piracy as well as broadening the scope of
economic cooperation between the Arab world and India.

On behalf of the Arab group, the Moroccan ambassador, who is also
the Dean of the Arab diplomatic corps lauded the existing deep-rooted
relations between the Arab world and India.
