President attends fourth conference for childhood in Taiz

TAIZ, June 02 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on
Tuesday the fourth conference for Childhood which was organized in
Taiz governorate under slogan " Early Childhood ... Present and
Future."

The conference is organized under sponsorship of the center for
qualification, and educational development at Taiz University for
period from 2nd to 4th June to discuss solution for tackling issues
related to childhood.

In the opening session, Taiz governor Hamoud al-Sofi delivered a
speech on behalf of president Saleh in which he said that the
childhood received full care of president Saleh in fields of health
and education.

He announced on behalf president Saleh on support for the local
authority to the budget of nursery that would be set up in the
governorate in partnership with UNICEF supported by the private
sector including Hayal Saeed Anam companies.

Al-Sofi wished success for the conference.

For his part, the director of the center Abdul Hakim al-Hakimi
delivered in which he said that the conference comes within efforts
of enhancing care on children in different fields by the government
and civil society organizations

He said that the conference would come out with recommendations
which could help to provide a good atmosphere for childhood in the
country, pointing out to the efforts of Taiz University in
organizing such conference annually.

Director of Early Childhood Project at UNIECF in Sana'a expressed
thanks for the university and the cnter to continuing cooperation
with the organization to hold such national conference,

He pointed out to the support childhood programs by the government
and civil society organizations.

Some 62 researchers would discuss in three-day conference several
subjects related to child rights and laws as well as role of the
media corporations and private sector to enhance the good childhood.
