With participation of Bahrain, IBE-UNESCO Executive Committee concludes meetings

Geneva, Sept. 2 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Ministry of Education, as Vice-President of the Council of the International Bureau of Education of UNESCO (IBE-UNESCO) and as a representative of the Arab countries, participated in the meetings of the Executive Committee of IBE-UNESCO, which were held at the office's headquarters in Geneva.
The recommendations of the meetings, in which Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi participated, focused on a number of topics that will be presented at the Education Transformation Summit that is set to be held at the United Nations in New York this September. The recommendations included providing support for the member states in using qualitative curricula for the early childhood stage, promoting the use of technology in the teaching and evaluation processes to develop the digital capabilities of teachers and learners, and promoting environmental content in educational curricula.
It is worth noting that it was agreed to cooperate and exchange experiences between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Bureau of Education in a number of areas, including the development of curricula related to the environment and climate change, and cooperation in training officials in the early childhood sector, which includes kindergartens and nurseries after the responsibility of monitoring nurseries was transferred to the Ministry of Education. The focal areas also include discussing the topics, values, and activities that have priority in the field of early childhood care, in continuation of the procedures and discussions that began previously with UNESCO, to develop and support the efforts of the Ministry of Education in the field of technical and vocational education.
