WB releases World Development Report 2009

SANA'A, June 03 (Saba)- World Bank in Sana'a released on Wednesday
the World Development Report 2009 "Reshaping Economic Geography".

At the release ceremony, attended by Minister of Industry and Trade
Yahya al- Mutawakel, two speeches were delivered by Deputy of
Planning and International Cooperation Minister Mutahar al-Abbasi
and WB's Chief Education Specialists Aisha Fouda.

The speeches reviewed points of the report, topped by density,
distance and divisions, mentioning that the urban growth is a major
challenge and requires a discussion to develop the local areas.

For his part, chief of environment specialists of WB said that the
report includes three parts, the first focuses on the development
vision, second part focuses on the market forces, migration,
specialization and trade, and the third point discusses the policy
implications of the result of practical experience and analysis
included in the first two parts.
