Two Egyptian newspapers comment on Obama's visit to Saudi Arabia

Cairo, June 04, SPA -- Egyptian evening newspapers laud U.S.
President Barack Obama's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
quoting the U.S. president's confirmation on the importance of the
strategic relations between his country and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Masaa and Al-Ahram Evening newspapers said Obama suggested that it
was important for him to visit the cradle of Islam and meet with the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
for consultation before addressing the Islamic world from Cairo.

The papers said Obama lauded the prudence and kindness of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and expressed confidence in the
ability of the two countries to work together to make progress in a
variety of issues and common interests.

The two papers quoted the monarch as saying that the visit of Obama
to the Kingdom is obvious in view of the historic and strategic ties
binding the two countries, recalling the first meeting between U.S.
Franklin Roosevelt and Saudi Arabia’s founder late King Abdulaziz Al
Saud.
