Qatar Charity Supports Young Leaders to Implement Community Pograms

Doha, October 05 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) has launched today a grant program dedicated to supporting leaders in order to compete in the implementation of sports for development programs within local communities in cooperation with Qatar Fund For Development and Street Child United. QC hosted the 10 young leaders representing seven countries (Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Tanzania), where they participated in submitting their business plans to an Ad Hoc Committee of judges. QC CEO's assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector Nawaf Abdullah al-Hammadi said that through the grants program, QC aims to work with young leaders and their communities to promote the development and integration of children and youth to build communities through the unique potential of sport, which has proven to be an important tool to improve the life prospects of all young people without discrimination. The young leaders of Street Child United have already participated in the children's World Cup and were selected for their great passion and desire to be role models in their communities. The young leaders are in Qatar ahead of the 4th edition of the children's World Cup, hosted by Qatar Foundation, where 28 youth teams representing 25 countries will gather for a 10-day football tournament. An arts festival and a conference to promote children's rights around the world will also be held during this event. (QNA)
