Justice Ministry Holds 4 Specialized Training Courses for Legal Staff

Doha, October 10 (QNA) - The Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry of Justice organized four specialized training courses for researchers and legal staff in several ministries and government agencies, as part of the legal and judicial training program for 2022, organized by the center.
The first training course titled "Legal Protection for Consumer in Qatari Law" aimed at developing the participants’ legal and practical skills in this domain, and familiarize them with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law, by highlighting consumer rights, identifying the provider's obligations towards the consumer and ways to protect and compensate the consumer for any breach of their rights by service providers, as well as introducing the penalties for consumer rights violation.
The second training course aimed at developing participants’ skills in Qatari law’s regulation for real estate brokerage, its licensing, and the consequences of legal violations, through reviewing the scope of the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee, as well as the conditions and procedures for licensing a real estate brokerage practice. In addition to becoming familiar with the rules regulating the work of the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee, and identifying the obligations of real estate brokers, the broker’s accountability and disciplinary action, covering cases of license suspension and cancellation, and introducing the general pillars of brokerage contracts and their provisions.
The third training course dealt with "Arbitration Agreement", its concepts, controls, drafting rules, and its most important legal effects (the negative conflicts of jurisdiction), in accordance with the new Qatari arbitration law, as well as the rules and regulations of the center and international bodies concerned with arbitration. The training program was presented through an applied scientific study.
The fourth training course, "skills for the preparation and drafting of international agreements", aimed to familiarize participants with skills needed in the legal drafting of international agreements, their special procedures, the legal and technical requirements for being a drafter, the importance of familiarity with the rules of public international law, the provisions of international agreements, and the principles of technical and legal drafting of international agreements.
On this occasion, the Acting Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Nada Jassim Al Abdul-Jabbar said that the holding of these specialized courses falls within the framework of the center’s legal and judicial training program for 2022, which includes a preparatory and specialized legal training plan for all legal groups, which targets all legal personnel in ministries and other government agencies, judicial officers, experts, real estate brokers, and other legal categories in accordance with the training needs of government agencies in the country, and their nominations for legal staff or workers in the legal sector.
Al Abdul-Jabbar stressed that the courses, training programs and workshops organized by the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies meet the needs of government agencies and institutions, as well as supporting the human development programs included in the Qatar National Vision 2030, indicating that modern training packages have been prepared, according to the most update programs, in line with the needs of institutions and bodies concerned with training programs. The training program for this year included about (94) specialized courses for legal professionals.
The Acting Director pointed out that registration for courses are done on the "Mawared" platform for legal professionals in Qatar. However, entities not associated with this system have to fill out a training nomination form on the ministry's website, and send it to the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry of Justice.
