Ministry of Education Honors Entities Participating in National Competition of Scientific Research

Doha, October 12 (QNA) - Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) honored Wednesday the supporting partners and entities that had won in the competition of scientific research and innovation, in collaboration with Qatar National Research Fund, an affiliate of Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council, within National Science Research and Innovation Week Activities 2022, in addition to inaugurating the research exhibitions that had won the first three places in the scientific research and innovation competition, whose final qualifiers were held for the qualified research in the preparatory and secondary stages last week. A total of 135 research projects from various public and private schools in the State of Qatar participated in the qualifiers, distributed in eight categories in biomedicine, engineering, computing and communication systems, earth and environmental sciences, chemistry and materials science, botany and animal science, behavioral and social sciences, energy, physics and mathematics. The Director of the Curriculum and Learning Resources Department at MOEHE Dr. Abdullah Al Marri honored the Qatar Scientific Club in the presence of his CEO Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis. In addition, Qatar Scientific Club had participated in "Researcher 5" program, which is a competition organized by the club with the objective of promoting the extra-curricular scientific activities, research and innovation in Qatar schools, as the program aims to contribute to finding an attractive environment that develops the students' abilities and inclinations, in collaboration with MOEHE to further upbring a generation that is capable of conducting research and innovation. The National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) at the Ministry of Interior was also honored, which has the discretion to chart the general traffic policies and set the plans, methods and techniques that upgrade the traffic operation in collaboration with the public and private national institutions in the State of Qatar. NTSC organized "Traffic safety" competition which is related to the problems of traffic congestion, traffic safety and security on roads in the presence of the educational expert at NTSC Dr. Ebtisam Naji, in addition to honoring the researches participating in Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy Competition pertaining to the projects of organizing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament in the presence of Public Relations Specialist at Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy Alya Abdulrahman Bawazir. In addition, Education Outreach Expert at Qatar National Research Fund Dr. Abdullah Al-Kamali congratulated the winners of the three places in the scientific research and innovation competition and urged them to continue searching in the other programs of Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council to achieve the national priorities of the State of Qatar, noting that Thursday Oct. 13, 2022, six projects representing Qatar in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) USA will be announced during the closing ceremony of the National Science Research and Innovation Week Activities 2022.
