Arab Girls' Summit Concludes in Jordan with Qatar's Participation

Amman, October 12 (QNA) - The Arab Girls' Summit, held over three days on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, concluded today in Amman, Jordan, with the participation of Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), represented by DIFI's Family Policy Director Khaled Al-Naama.
The Arab League said in a statement today that the Summit provided an opportunity for discussion in front of girls and young women from 12 Arab countries and decision-makers, on four axes, including health and well-being, learning and livelihoods, freedom from violence and access to justice, participation and leadership.
The statement added that the Arab Girls' Summit also aimed at strengthening regional efforts aimed at gender equality and empowering young girls in the Arab countries, providing effective support for their rights through the commitments of officials and decision makers in this regard, also enhancing dialogue and knowledge exchange, and addressing the challenges facing them in the Arab region.
The International Day of the Girl Child is an international celebration declared by the United Nations on the 1th day of October every year, in order to support the basic priorities in order to protect the rights of girls and more opportunities for a better life, as the celebration of this day reflects the success of girls and young women as an outstanding group in development policy, programming and research.
