Qatari Ambassador to Turkey to QNA: Qatar-Turkey Supreme Strategic Committee Meeting Reflects Excellence of Relations

Ankara, October 13 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani raised the importance of holding the 8th Session of the Supreme Strategic Committee between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his brother HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
His Excellency told Qatar news agency (QNA) that holding this meeting on an ongoing basis has a symbolism and significance, as it confirms the commitment of the two parties to this annual date and its priority, it is an opportunity to consult on many issues of interest to both parties, especially since the Session of the Supreme Strategic Committee is held at the highest levels, and it also provides an opportunity to evaluate previous agreements, contributions and additions made by them, and the expected positives from the signing of new agreements, besides, it is an ideal opportunity to discuss topics of interest to both parties, and discuss many files that require some kind of coordination and harmony.
HE Qatari Ambassador to Turkey explained that the Supreme Strategic Committee between the two countries will witness the signing of a number of agreements that have been consulted and coordinated, the details of which will be announced during the work of the Supreme Committee next Friday.
His Excellency pointed out that the convening of this session comes at a time when Qatari-Turkish relations are witnessing a distinction that has been reflected in all fields, and sectors that have expanded significantly, indicating that the Supreme Strategic Committee contributes significantly to the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially through the agreements signed during its meetings annually, which are characterized by setting legal frameworks for many areas of cooperation and making them easier and more organized, which ultimately benefits and enriches bilateral relations.
In this context, His Excellency noted that there is a large number of agreements signed between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey over the past years, which cover all sectors and fields, which creates a kind of integration and unity between the two countries and deepens the ties of friendship and brotherhood between them.
HE the Qatari Ambassador also underscored the importance of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, especially at a time when many countries are suffering from high inflation rates, economic depression, food security concerns, as well as the repercussions of the corona pandemic and the lockdown.
His Excellency said that Qatar and Turkey have joint economic committees, economic and trade agreements, and trade exhibitions that are held alternately between the two countries, and the Turkish Presidency's Investment Office and Financial Office opened a joint headquarters last year at the Qatar Financial Center (QFC) in Doha, confirming that all of this coincides with a heavy movement of businessmen and chambers of commerce of both sides to increase and expand investments.
He added that this economic and trade cooperation is reflected by the level of political coordination and cooperation on regional and international issues between the two countries, as there is great political coordination between Qatar and Turkey in many regional and international files and issues aimed at bringing peace and ending conflicts, and improving the stressful economic and political conditions suffered by many countries.
In this context, HE the Qatari Ambassador to Turkey affirmed that the State of Qatar welcomes Turkey's mediation between Russia and Ukraine and its efforts to secure the export of stranded Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea ports, which contributes to addressing the food shortage crisis in the world.
