PACE MONITORING COMMITTEE`S REGULAR MEETING HELD IN PARIS

Paris, 5 June (AzerTAc). A regular meeting of PACE Monitoring Committee was held Friday here.
The agenda included a number of questions including human rights situation in Europe, Russia-Georgia ties, activity of democratic institutions in Armenia, issues regarding Moldova, Ukraine, Monaco and Albania.
Head of Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov and MP Gultakin Hajibayli attended the event.
Seyidov told AzerTAc during the meeting co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel briefed the participants on ongoing processes in the country, recently held referendum and other issues.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani MPs said their country faces double standards.
They said “Azerbaijan is one of the important countries in the South Caucasus region and Europe. So, while drawing up a report on the country the ongoing processes here must be analyzed objectively”.
The event participants also exchanged views on the promotion of democracy and human rights in Europe.
