Qatar Participates in Plenary Session of International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group

Washington, October 15 (QNA) - The State of Qatar took part in the plenary session of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) held in DAR Constitution Hall in Washington DC, as part of the 2022 Annual Meetings which kicked off on Monday and concludes tomorrow, Tuesday. The session, which was attended by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani, discussed the global economic outlooks, poverty eradication, economic development, aid effectiveness, and the contribution to the Poverty Reduction and Growth Trust Fund. On the sidelines of their participation in the plenary session, HE the Minister of Finance and HE the Governor of Qatar Central Bank met with representatives of a number of financial institutions and international banks, separately. The meetings discussed the bilateral relations and aspects of joint cooperation, in addition to the most important economic developments and challenges facing the world at the regional and international levels.
