30,000 Persons Benefit From QRCS's Aid, Supported by Zakat Fund

Doha, October 17 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) said that around 30,000 persons from the poorest families in Gaza strip, including a number of the vulnerable people such as sick persons, elderly people and persons with disabilities, have benefitted from the food aid provided by QRCS to alleviate their suffering due to blockade and wars. QRCS clarified that this new program includes the distribution of 5,000 food parcels to those families with full support, as a donation from the Zakat Fund of Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, pointing out that the new project was funded with a total budget of QR 1,125,000, which has largely contributed to alleviating the poverty cases and supporting the targeted families from these segments in light of the difficult economic situations in Gaza strip.
